Caitlin Rigel, Daemen University

Dr. Caitlin Riegel is an Assistant Professor in the Education Department at Daemen University in New York State. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education with a concentration in adolescent mathematics, as well as a Master of Science Degree in Special Education. She earned her doctorate in Leadership and Policy, where she focused on developing an instrument , the Teacher Preparation Technology Inventory (TPTI), to measure how often teacher candidates’ model and apply the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards in teacher preparation programs. She recently served as the president of the International Society for Educational Planning (ISEP), leading the organization in hosting its 2024 conference in South Africa and 2025 conference in Buffalo, NY. She currently serves as the Communication and Media Chair on the Board of Directors for the Association for Independent Liberal Arts Colleges for Teacher Education (AILACTE) and is a Editor-in-Chief for the AILACTE Journal. Dr. Riegel also serves on the review board for several journals, including the Journal of Research on Technology in Education (JRTE). She was the recipient of the ISEP Glen Earthman Outstanding Dissertation Award in 2020 and the Journal of Research in Technology in Education Reviewer of the Year in 2023. Dr. Riegel is currently on the U.S. Department of State Fulbright Specialist roster and continues her agenda focused on the intersection of quality teacher preparation, effectively leveraging educational technology, and navigating artificial intelligence (AI) implementation in education.
